Holiday Wishes....

View from Plum Point

This is a 16x20" oil painting of the Hudson River...

(currently at the Bannerman Island Gallery in Beacon, New York)

This is where the River runs from the fairly wide Newburgh Bay to the narrows of the Hudson Highlands.

A friend once described this view as a Hug....  Love that!

Greetings and Happy Holidays!

Hope you are looking forward to spending time with family and friends !

If you would like a moment's down time, here is another puzzle for you of the image above!

Bannerman Island Gallery - Opening Reception

Am so grateful to the staff at the Bannerman Island Gallery!

Mary Ann Glass and I are sharing this show, giving us a great mix of photography and paintings that feature the Hudson River, Bannerman Island and the Hudson Valley....

SOLD!

and SOLD!

Mary Ann sold work also but I do not have those images at the moment...

The show looks great... an ecclectic mix...  along with artifacts from the Island...

That is a sampling of the work!   It is a small gallery but can really show the artwork beautifully!!

Again, thank you to all that made this possible, to all who attended.

And the show is up through the first week in February.

LOVE TO ALL !!!

Announcing: Duo Show at Bannerman Island Gallery !!!

My friend Mary Ann Glass and I are sharing a show at the Bannerman Island Gallery in Beacon, New York!!

I am doing the final framing, documenting, website updates and packing to drive up next Wednesday and deliver on Thursday.

This is Very Exciting!!!

Mary Ann has photographed the island for years and this collection brings a fresh look at the space.  She has also done photography workshops on the island.

I joined the Bannerman Castle Trust organization in the mid-ninties with my mother, Evelyn Owen Palen, who lived on the island in 1934-35.  Her brother was the assistant caretaker and lived there with his family.

So we have both been involved in bringing attention to the Island and to help support the preservation and education efforts there...

Our opening reception is on December 10, from 4-6pm...

Maybe we will see you there????

Hope so!!!

Artfully yours,

Virginia
